		<description><![CDATA[Adaptive Reuse - Hostel Accomodation - Cessnock. NSW &#124; 2011

This proposal is for the adaptive reuse of an existing residence, conserving its heritage and  transforming it into tourist accomodation which embraces the unique character of the building to add to the experience of travellers visiting this vineyard region.

The building is centrally located and elevated with distant mountain views.

A landmark on Blues Point Road, this building has a unique expression of structure and material while incorporating functional commercial space. The foyer has been recently refurbished. It is one of the recognised landmarks of Minnett Cullis-Hill Petersen + Powell Architects.

This new four storey office building is triangular in plan corresponding with the shape of the site. It expresses a mix of materials and facades responding to its solar orientation and its surroundings, curtain walling to the street and adjacent commercial buildings and brick to the residential.
